Mackerel with mustard and white wine

800 g of skinless mackerel fillets

2 tbsp. Dijon mustard

150 ml white wine

300 g Savoy cabbage, thinly sliced

4 slices of bacon, diced

100 g butter

200 g sliced onion


1. Melt butter in a saucepan. Sear the mackerel quickly for 30 seconds.

2. Add the white wine and remove from heat.

3. Baste the mackerel with mustard.

4. Bake in oven at 350°F for 5 to 8 minutes.

5. Add the bacon, onions and cabbage at the end of cooking. 

VARIATION: The same recipe may be used with all white fish.
